The Recreational program is designed to give hockey players an opportunity to learn and develop skating and playing skills in a team situation. The Recreational program is also designed to assure equal opportunity to participate and to assure even competition of players at the same level. Games are scheduled throughout the season against other clubs that have "in-house" or "recreational" programs. No Tryouts are required. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

5-8 Year-Old Half Ice League & Mite Select Full Ice Team (Read on).
BHC is creating a 1/2 ice house league consisting of four teams with approximately 8 to 12 players on each team. The teams will begin practice in early October. The players will be divided into 4 teams and practice one night per week and play one game on the weekend. There will be 2 simultaneous games, each using half of the ice surface. Each team will play 6 games from late October through mid-December.
In January and February the strongest skaters and goalies will be asked to be a part of a full ice, Mite Select Team that will play full ice games against other clubs. The remaining players will be regrouped into two teams and continue to play ½ ice games against other clubs. During this portion of the season each team will play a few away games within our area.
The ultimate goal is for the kids to have fun, develop hockey skills, and play games in a very slightly competitive environment. There will be no losses in the house league. All the kids are Champions! It is recomended, but not required, that players have participated in Instructional Hockey or have some previous skating instruction.
